Isaac is shy and quiet, for the most part, and gets scared easily. It takes time for him to warm up to new surroundings and new people. That being said, his favorite new thing to say is "hi". He says hi to just about everyone and always greets me in the morning with big grin and a hi. The first time I noticed him doing this was on our trip out here. He was in the stroller and we walked to our gate and stopped in front of a fellow passenger. Isaac immediately said hi. Most people are really friendly and say hi right back.
The other thing I noticed in the airport is how comfortable he is with men. He is a daddy's boy but if he feels comfortable he will go up to male strangers and ask to be held. Coming into Erie they lost our car seats so it took some time to get it sorted out. While I was doing this, since it was a long day and a small airport, I let the boys run around to get their wiggles out. Another man was there waiting to speak to an agent about his lost luggage. He was a middle-aged ex-military type guy and Isaac just walked up to him and lifted his arms to be held. The guy was kind enough to hold him for a few minutes. And today in church there was another family sitting next to us in the pew. The young boys were trying to play with Isaac which just resulted in Isaac falling to the ground and getting scared. The father ushered his boys to the other side of him. After I comforted Isaac he walked over to the father, held the man's hand and put his thumb in his mouth. A few minutes later the man let Isaac sit right next to him on the pew. He was so happy and I couldn't coax him back to me even with fruit snacks.
