A Little Update

Where has the time gone? It passes too quickly. November was a good month, weening Anna which she then started sleeping through the night. She's pretty awesome. I asked Tim how we got such a cool baby and he just said I have no idea and then I agreed. Asher also started potty training. We had family in town for Thanksgiving and celebrated Isaac and Asher's birthday at the indoor swim park here. December Isaac started school and loves it. He has a great teacher who was even nominated for a local teacher award. We see improvement in him every day and he asked to go to school every day. I feel bad when I have to tell him that he can't go to school that day. He loves taking his backpack to school. He fell asleep last night like this.
We also went down to Virginia for Christmas. I don't have pictures but is was a great trip. We went to the DC temple. It's pretty cool seeing the temple rising up from the freeway as you approach it. It was also nice to have an outing w/o the kids and they got to spend some quality time with their Grandma and Grandpa Atkinson. Isaac loved spending time with them, he got all the oranges he could eat from Grandpa Gary. I'm not sure how much I even saw Asher, he spent most of his time with his cousin Shannon. I love that they are friends and get along.
Lately we've been struggling with food issues at the Atkinson household. Isaac and Anna are good eaters. Asher is not. Each night at dinner it's a fight to get him to eat his vegetables. Last week he wouldn't eat his green beans and he said he couldn't because it would hurt his teeth and give him hiccups. Asher loves attention and loves people. We had the missionaries over for dinner and it was cute hearing him call one of the Elders "missionary". He'd say "missionary watch this or missionary look at me, etc". He's also good at saying prayers. He says thank you for chocolate milk and for Yo Gabba Gabba.
I also am sad to write that my Grandpa Wolfe passed this past Friday. We took a last minute trip to Tennessee this summer to see him. Even though 10 hours of driving to get there with 3 kids wasn't the funnest experience, seeing him one last time was. I wish I had spent more time with him but I know he was an amazing man, a hard worker, gifted with animals, a tattooed Navy man who fought in WWII, loved his family, his children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. I am so glad he met my children and got to see my part of his legacy He held them and kissed them and hugged them and even though my kids won't remember, I will. It saddens me that he is gone from this world but I know he is in a much better place waiting to see all of us again.
January will be over before I know it. Most days we spend at home safe from the snow and cold only venturing out when the cabin fever has set in. February is looking like it's going to become a little more busy. We have a few changes coming up so I'm just enjoying this time where I don't have to leave the house unless I want to. We'll see how everything works out.

It was great to hear how you have been. Derek is a super picky eater as well, and it is such a pain. So sorry about your grandpa.
